Looking for an experienced and detail-oriented gardener to prepare our property for sale. This is not just a basic lawn mowing job. The garden needs to be presented to a very high standard for property photography and open homes. Work required includes: Mow and edge all lawn areas neatly Thorough weeding throughout the front, side and backyard Remove weeds growing between garden edges, paving and around retaining walls Trim/tidy overgrown grass and plants Rake and remove leaves, branches and garden debris Tidy garden beds and edges Clean up around the shed, fences, stairs and pathways Make the whole outdoor area look neat, clean and well maintained Remove and dispose of all green waste after completion The property has sloped and uneven areas, as shown in the photos. We’re looking for someone to help us design a simple, attractive and cost-efficient front garden for our home in Melbourne. The current garden is very bland and largely consists of approximately 70m² of lawn surrounded by hedges. Unfortunately, the lawn isn’t working particularly well — part of it gets very little sunlight and becomes mossy/dead, and we also have recurring mushrooms. There is also a well-worn path across the lawn from the front gate to the front door. We’d like someone to look at the garden as a whole and help us develop a practical design that makes better use of the space, rather than simply replacing the grass. We’re open to different ideas, including fake grass, paved areas, pools etc, pending cost. There are also some uneven steps and a front porch area that we may look to re-level/re-tile, so ideally the design would consider how these areas connect with the garden. We’re particularly interested in someone who can think creatively about how to get the biggest visual and functional improvement for the lowest reasonable cost. Happy to work with a landscape design student, recent graduate or someone earlier in their career with a good eye for design. Please include examples of previous garden/landscape design work and what you would provide as part of the job.
