I’m looking to get my backyard done with artificial grass. The area is approximately 12.4m × 3m (around 37m²) and currently has no grass. I’m looking for good-quality 40mm artificial turf. I’m not just looking for something that looks good in the photos — I want a proper quality turf that is dense, durable, UV resistant and will hold up well over the years, including with kids using the lawn. Please let me know what product you recommend and provide the brand/product details and warranty. What I need done: * Prepare, level and compact the existing ground properly * Supply and install good-quality 40mm artificial turf * Proper base preparation and drainage * Neat joins and edges * Install a narrow border around the lawn using rectangular travertine or limestone tiles * Preferably something reasonably priced * Around 200–300mm wide border rather than a large paved area * Install 8 ground lights in the border: * 2 at the front corners * 2 at the back corners * 2 along each side, evenly spaced * Warm white lights I have attached a reference picture of roughly how I would like it to look. I’m not necessarily looking for the cheapest quote. I want the job done properly with good-quality materials and a finish that will last. At the same time, I don’t want to pay a premium just for a brand if there are equally good options available. I've attached plans showing the current condition and proposed layout. Scope of Works 🧱 Concrete Works Supply and install approximately 44.2 m² of plain concrete pathways around the house. Front, side and backyard pathways as shown on the plans. Ensure proper drainage and falls away from the house. Maintain visibility of the termite barrier. Tie into existing concrete where required. 🌱 Natural Turf Installation Remove existing crushed rock from nominated areas. Supply and spread quality garden soil/topsoil. Prepare ground and install natural grass turf. Total grass area: approximately 29.0 m². 🪵 Timber Edging Supply and install timber edging around grass areas for a clean finish. 🪨 Granite Feature Area Supply and install decorative granite (or similar) to the nominated feature strip. Total granite area: approximately 4.0 m². 🧹 General Landscaping Weed removal and site clean-up. Retain existing areas as shown on the plan. Create a clean, modern, low-maintenance finish. Existing Areas Existing concrete shown on the plans does not require any work. Some crushed rock areas will remain as shown. We have a few jobs to be done in the front yard. 1. We require someone to come and dig up the grass and weeds from the front yard, driveway and nature strip. The grass has been poisoned so should make it easier to remove. Keep in mind that there is a large tree in the nature strip you will have to work around. Nature strip is approximately 3.2 m x 5m Driveway is approximately 7.2m x 0.68m Front yard is approximately 7.2m x 5m You will also need a trailer or skip to take away what you dig up. The areas requiring excavation are marked with yellow. 2.We require you to order, deliver and move road base for the paths, driveway and nature strip areas. You will need to bring a plated compactor to compact after. The areas requirements road base and compacting marked in red. 3.Order, deliver soil for garden beds. Areas marked with blue. 4.Order, deliver and build a garden bed using H4 treated pine. Ideally 20cm high off the ground. Area marked with green. 5.Order, deliver and put soil in this area. This will be preparation for a tree and large pebbles later on. There is a lot more work in the future for the right worker.
