Hi there, I’m looking for a kind, capable and proactive person to volunteer some time to help me through a very full and important period. I’m a 54-year-old Melbourne woman living with Multiple Sclerosis, currently preparing for an ambitious attempt to summit Mount Everest. Alongside the physical and logistical preparation, I’m fundraising for MS research, seeking sponsorship support, and trying to generate some media interest around the climb. As my departure gets closer, everything is compressing at once. One of the less visible impacts of MS for me is cognitive overload — under pressure my thinking slows, the mental “cogs” can jam, and tasks that should be straightforward suddenly feel overwhelming. I’m looking to borrow someone else’s faster-moving cogs for a while 🙂 I’m seeking someone who is genuinely happy to volunteer their time to support this cause. I’m not in a position to pay for help — all funds raised are directed towards expedition costs and MS research — but this is meaningful, purpose-driven work with a real human on the other end. What I’d love help with (depending on your strengths): • Supporting fundraising efforts (ideas, outreach, follow-ups) • Researching and approaching potential sponsors • Drafting or sending media pitches and press releases • Helping organise, prioritise and move tasks from “stuck” to “done” I’d love to hear from someone who: • Is compassionate and understands invisible illness • Thinks clearly and enjoys bringing structure to complexity • Has experience or interest in communications, media, fundraising or sponsorship • Is happy to volunteer their skills and time in support of a bigger mission This isn’t a faceless task — it’s a human story, a health cause, and a big, bold goal unfolding in real time. I need someone to apply 200 kiss-cut sheet labels to 120mL PET bottles using a Label Ledge applicator + hard rubber brayer/roller (all provided). Goal: straight, consistent placement with minimal bubbles. Bottle/label specs - Bottle: 120mL PET, approx Ø49.4mm x 67mm - Label: 57mm (H) x 145mm (wrap) - Stock: metallic + matte laminated (stiffer → needs proper rolling/burnishing) Strong preference: you’ve used Label Ledge (or similar alignment/applicator) or have wrap-label/packaging experience. I don’t know the tool at all, so you must be able to use it confidently / learn quickly. Provided: Label Ledge, hard rubber brayer/roller, bottles + labels and clean work surface. Method to follow (step-by-step): 1. Wipe bottle label area with lint-free wipe (provided). 2. Peel only 10–15mm of backing (don’t peel all). 3. Place label on Label Ledge, align to guide. 4. Tack first edge straight on bottle. 5. Roll bottle along ledge to apply progressively while slowly pulling backing away. 6. Immediately burnish with brayer: 2–3 firm passes centre→out, then press top/bottom edges. 7. If small bubbles: re-burnish (don’t rush). Repeat. Quality standard: straight/no tilt, consistent height, no big bubbles/wrinkles, edges firmly pressed (no lifting). Time/Budget: ~4–5 hours total. Please include your relevant experience when replying.
