Date: Saturday 7 November Location: Dee Why – private residence Guests: Approximately 60 (final numbers confirmed 2 weeks prior) Event: 40th birthday celebration Party time: 5pm until late Staff required: 1 x experienced wait staff Shift: 4:45pm–10:45pm (6 hours) I’m looking for an experienced, friendly and proactive wait staff member to help keep everything running smoothly throughout the evening. It will be a relaxed cocktail-style party rather than a sit-down dinner, with grazing/finger food being served throughout the night. Responsibilities will include: Helping with final setup before guests arrive Heating and serving food as required Keeping food and grazing areas stocked and looking presentable Clearing used glasses, plates and napkins throughout the evening Washing/rinsing glasses and keeping the kitchen tidy General tidying and cleaning as needed Helping with pack-up and as much cleanup as possible before finishing at 10:45pm I’m looking for someone who is confident, self-directed and proactive, who can keep an eye on what needs doing without needing constant instructions. Looking for a friendly, reliable person to help host a small private lunch gathering at my home in Newtown. It's a potluck-style event for around 9 guests. I'll be providing two lasagnas (vegetarian and meat), and guests are bringing sides, salads and desserts to share. Tasks will include: * Setting up food, platters and serving areas before guests arrive * Arranging snacks, grazing platters and other food * Heating simple food — mainly putting things in the oven, following timings and serving when ready * Keeping food and serving platters topped up * Restocking drinks, ice and glasses * Clearing away used plates, glasses and rubbish throughout the party * Loading/unloading the dishwasher and keeping the kitchen tidy * Packing away leftover food * General clean-up towards the end of the party — dishes, wiping surfaces, rubbish and getting the kitchen and entertaining areas back in order There’s no complicated cooking involved — I’ll have everything organised and provide instructions. I’m looking for two people who are proactive, organised and comfortable seeing what needs doing and getting on with it, rather than needing lots of direction throughout the party. Experience in hospitality, events, catering or waiting would be ideal. It’s a relaxed birthday party at our home, and I’m looking for 2 people for the full 6 hours, from 1:30pm–7:30pm.
