Hello. I've got a couple of Merbau decks that need some TLC (one is 10x3.5m and the other is 4.5 x1.5m approx). They need a clean and oil. I'd also like the general clean on the deck, to clean and remove cobwebs. We have a poly carbonate roof on the deck that needs a clean - it has dirt build up on it. You'll need a big ladder.

Looking for an experienced deck restoration specialist to restore two painted Merbau decking areas and refresh a third deck at our home in Seddon. Areas to be completed: 1. Side deck – 5.74m² (4.1m × 1.4m) Old dark brown paint is peeling and worn. Completely remove existing paint and sand back to natural timber. Prepare and apply two coats of quality exterior decking oil. 2. Front porch – 2.8m² (1.4m × 2m) Similar condition to side deck, with old painted finish. Strip, sand and refinish to match the side deck. 3. Back deck and walkway – 13.72m² (Main deck: 2.4m × 3.5m and Walkway: 3.8m × 1.4m) DIY sand and restain job done last year. Generally in OK condition but could use a refresh. Looking for cleaning, light preparation (particularly on a few areas where there was paint damage) and a maintenance coat if required, rather than a full restoration. Desired finish: Natural, warm-brown Merbau finish with a low sheen. Ideally consistent across all three areas. Requirements: Experience restoring painted hardwood/Merbau decking. All sanding equipment, tools, consumables and finishing products supplied. Thorough removal of existing paint (not simply sanding over peeling areas). Quality exterior decking oil suitable for Merbau. Care taken around surrounding weatherboards and walls. All cleanup included. Please include examples of previous deck restoration work, particularly paint removal, and confirm your recommended process and products. Photos attached.
