Carpenter Needed: Raise and Level Garage Floor to Match House Level I am looking for an experienced and reliable carpenter to construct a raised, level wooden subfloor in an old cement garage space, bringing its height level with the rest of the adjacent house floor. Project Details • Location: Seaforth • Space Type: Existing single-car garage/storage area (currently a concrete slab). • Goal: Construct a timber-framed subfloor to raise the current floor level. • Scope of Work: • Design and install the necessary wooden support structure (joists and bearers) to achieve the specified height (540 mm raise). • Install a structural timber subfloor (e.g., plywood or particleboard) for the entire area. • Crucially, the portion designated for the Laundry/Wet Area requires a specific substrate: • Laundry/Wet Area (Approx. 1/3 of the space): This section must be sheeted with Compressed Fibre-Cement Sheeting (e.g., 6mm Ceramic Tile Underlay or similar) over the main structural subfloor. This is required for tiling and to comply with wet area standards. • Ensure the finished subfloor is perfectly level and securely fastened, adhering to all relevant building standards for stability and load-bearing capacity. • The finished subfloor must be flush with the existing house floor level, ready for final floor coverings/waterproofing. Specific Dimensions • Total Width: 2900 mm • Total Length: 10000mm • Target Height Raise (Gap from existing slab to new subfloor top): 540 mm • Please provide a fixed price quote that includes all labour and materials, specifically accounting for the necessary fibre-cement sheeting for the wet area. • The successful applicant must be a qualified and experienced carpenter. • Please detail the type of timber, subfloor sheeting, and cement sheeting you intend to use in your proposal. I’d like to commission someone to make me a headboard. I don’t have the skills or equipment to build the bed head I would like, but I want it to attach to the bed frame base in the second picture, as I only bought the base. I’m looking for the Tori gate design in the first picture. I’d like it to be a relatively seamless match to the base of my current bed. So as long as I can stain it to match the nice walnut finish and the wood will look similar, I will be happy. Base is made of upcycled rubber wood. Happy to pay for the wood and materials required, plus the labour creating it.
