Hello, We are looking for a skilled handyman, joiner, or cabinet maker to repair a broken cabinet door at our retail store, in Bendigo Marketplace. The Issue: A concealed hinge has been completely ripped out of the cupboard door behind our counter, leaving a damaged hole where the hinge cup was seated. The door is now hanging on by only one hinge, which is under strain and at risk of failing completely. The Job: The task is to repair the door and securely re-attach the hinge. The scope of work includes: 1. Assessing the damage to the door where the hinge cup has been pulled out. 2. Performing a durable repair to the door. This will likely involve filling the oversized hole with wood filler/epoxy, allowing it to set, and then re-drilling the hinge cup hole. 3. Securely re-installing the original hinge into the newly repaired hole. 4. Re-hanging the door and adjusting both hinges to ensure it is properly aligned, hangs straight, and closes smoothly. 5. As a preventative measure, please also check and tighten the hinges on the adjacent cabinet doors. Requirements: - MUST have experience with cabinetry repairs, particularly repairing hinge holes in particleboard/MDF and installing concealed/European-style hinges. - You must supply all your own tools, including a drill with hinge-boring bit, and all necessary materials (e.g., wood filler/epoxy). - Public liability insurance is required. I have a door and I need the bore and latch holes cut so that I can attach the door handle (which I'll do myself). The hole is already cut into the door jam, it's only the door itself that needs to be cut. I have the size template for the door handle.
