I have an old canvas tarp that I need sewed into a cover for the tub rack on my 4wd. Its about 1m x 1m x 30cm high. Will need 2 x zips and some eyelets and press studs put on aswell. I will supply canvas, zips, eyelets and press studs. It will be straight forward for someone who knows what they are doing. I am in Mernda, Vic

We’re a Fitzroy-based clothing brand looking for an experienced machinist or hand sewer to assist with a short-term production rework project. The role involves: > Sewing replacement buttons onto wool outerwear where required. > Reinforcing existing buttons to improve durability and prevent future issues. > Most buttons require a hand-sewn shank stitch due to the thickness of the wool fabric. Details: Approximately 60 coats, ranging from 2–5 buttons per coat. All materials and buttons supplied. Work to be completed on-site at our Fitzroy studio. Casual rate: $35/hour. Experience with garment production, sample making or high-quality clothing alterations is preferred. This is an initial short-term project, with the potential for future production and sample sewing work for the right person.

Sew a few stretch knit items. I can come to you. Based on old ones that I’ve liked but which can be pulled apart for patterns. Nothing particularly complicated but I never seem to get it done. I’m happy to do cutting out or such if it makes things easier. I put $100 but can go up or down on that depending on what you think you can do

I have always wanted to learn how to sow but never got around to it. I have a basic sowing machine that I have used once or twice. Would like to learn how to make tops and skirts, just clothes in general. Happy to pay $25 an hour (if I wasn’t a student and so broke I would offer more)

I'm looking for an experienced seamstress or tailor to reinforce the seat of a two pairs of dress trousers. The fabric is quite thin, and I'd like an additional layer of lightweight, durable fabric sewn inside the seat area to help prevent wear and extend the life of the trousers. I'd like the reinforcement to be as discreet as possible, with no visible stitching or change to the outside appearance. I'm looking for someone with experience altering quality garments and who can recommend a suitable reinforcement fabric if needed. Please let me know: Your experience with similar work.
