I think the zipper is worn and may need replacing as it jams at the bottom when trying to get the top zip slider started. It is a heavy duty zipper 750mm long (75cm long) on a very good quality hiking jacket. The Zip Sliders are YKK 5VST. There is a double slide arrangement so the jacket can be opened at the top and bottom and stay zipped up in the middle. The top slider seems to be worn - perhaps it can be replaced? The zip teeth look OK.

Very basic for someone with a sewing machine. I would think less than an hour. Just snip off extra material and hem . don;t want anything fancy .

I have two pairs of jeans that I need to fit my waist better, I purposely bought them a bigger size because I'm quite tall and they fit well around my thighs and legs but the waist is too big.

I would like to have these pants fitted to my height. They are very long but I was told at the shop that I purchased them from that the best way to shorten them would be to remove the waist band and trim the pants from the top. They may require a bit of hemming from the bottom as well.
