Men Herringbone Blazer sleeve shortening. I am looking for an experienced tailor or clothing alteration specialist to alter one men’s lined herringbone blazer. The blazer is size 3XL. The shoulders and upper body fit well, but because I am 172 cm tall, the sleeves are too long and slightly too wide toward the cuffs. The work required is: • Shorten both sleeves to the correct length • Taper both sleeves gradually from around the elbow to the cuff • Keep enough room to comfortably wear a business shirt and watch • Check the overall jacket length while I am wearing it • Provide advice and a separate quote if the jacket body should also be shortened • Preserve the lining, cuff buttons, vents and overall proportions of the blazer The sleeves currently measure approximately 68 cm from the shoulder seam to the cuff. I expect they may need to be shortened by roughly 4 to 5 cm, but I would like them properly pinned and measured during a fitting before anything is cut. The jacket body is approximately 79 cm long. Please assess whether it needs shortening based on my height and body proportions rather than automatically shortening it. I am broad through the shoulders and arms, so I do not want the sleeves made excessively tight. I am looking for a clean, professional and moderately tapered fit.
