Looking for someone experienced with refrigeration or wine fridges to diagnose and hopefully repair a Vintec P5V30SGMe wine fridge. We recently purchased it second-hand. When we inspected and collected it, it was running and displaying approximately 15°C. Unfortunately, due to the size of our vehicle we couldn’t transport it completely upright, so it travelled on its side. When we got it home, we stood it upright for four days before plugging it in again to allow the refrigerant/compressor oil plenty of time to settle. Since switching it back on, the unit powers up normally and the fan appears to run, however it is sitting at approximately 20°C and doesn’t seem to be pulling the temperature down. Model: Vintec P5V30SGMe 30-bottle freestanding wine cabinet Refrigerant: R134a Approx. dimensions: 830mm H × 493mm W × 590mm D The previous owner had it for around 6–7 years and said it had been reliable. They did mention it sometimes took a while to cool after being moved, but it was definitely cooling when we collected it. We’re hoping someone can inspect it, diagnose whether it’s something straightforward such as cleaning, airflow, thermostat/sensor, relay etc., and let us know what is required to get it cooling properly again. Located in Docklands / New Quay. Please let me know your experience with wine fridges/refrigeration, how the diagnosis process works and how any additional costs would work if relevant.
