Replace broken timber pergola rafter with curved ends

$500

Details

Looking for an experienced carpenter to safely remove and replace one broken timber pergola rafter at a residential property in West Pennant Hills. Approximate size: 3,000 mm long x 200 mm high x 50 mm thick. There is a decorative curved/profiled cut at BOTH ends. Please measure on site and match the existing dimensions and both end profiles. Finish is dark brown. The timber has split and is hanging down beneath the pergola. Established vines cover the structure, so careful access is required. Please include in your fixed-price offer: - Inspection of the damaged member, its supports and fixings, and safe securing/temporary support as needed. - Supply of suitable exterior structural timber, with the grade and treatment appropriate to its role. - Safe removal and replacement of the broken member, matching both curved ends. - Suitable exterior-rated fixings. - Priming/sealing all faces and cut ends, and exterior painting to match the existing dark-brown finish. - Protection of the surrounding structure, planting and furniture. - Disposal of the old timber and job debris. Initial scope is ONE replacement member, not the whole pergola. Please identify any additional damaged timber or connections and quote separately; no additional work without approval. Any vine pruning needed for access must be agreed beforehand. Budget is $500 for the complete job, including labour, materials, fixings, painting, access equipment and disposal. Please clearly state any exclusions and GST if applicable. No patching or simply reattaching the broken timber. Please advise relevant carpentry/pergola repair experience, insurance and earliest availability. Timing is flexible by agreement. Three photos attached.
