Our new Miele KDN 7713 E integrated fridge freezer was installed last week with the appliance body flush to the front of the cabinet. Miele's fitting instructions (sheet 12 146 060, step 2.8) say the body should sit 41mm back from the front edge of the carcass, measured top and bottom, so the appliance door ends up flush with the cabinet front. As fitted, the fridge and freezer doors hit the back of the kitchen doors when they open and can't open fully. The job: Unscrew the top fixing rail and the hinge-side fixings Slide the appliance back 41mm, square to the cabinet, checked top and bottom Refix the rail and brackets Re-set the sliding door rails so both furniture doors open freely with the 2mm clearance Miele specifies Check both doors open past 90 degrees and the freezer drawers pull out The kitchen has in-frame doors on butt hinges, no cabinet work needed. The recess is open to the wall behind, so there's depth to move it. Tools: Torx T20, drill, spirit level, square. Should take 1 to 2 hours for someone who's fitted integrated appliances before. I'll have the Miele fitting sheet printed available. Please send a short written note afterwards of what you found and what you did, as we're claiming the cost back from the original installer.
