Source and install floating timber desk – site measure required Looking for an experienced carpenter or cabinetmaker to source and install a wall-to-wall floating timber desk in a home office. Approximate desktop dimensions are 252 cm long × 62 cm deep, to be confirmed on site. I’m after a natural oak finish, similar to the attached reference image. Main task – floating desk - Visit to confirm measurements and assess the walls. - Advise on suitable timber, thickness and how to securely support the desk, ideally with concealed brackets or framing and no visible legs. - Source and supply the timber and installation materials. - Install and finish neatly, with provision for computer cables. I’m unsure of the logistics of a floating desk this length, so I’m looking for someone who can advise on a practical solution. I may add a drawer unit underneath the right-hand side later and can potentially source this myself. Drawers aren’t required as part of the quote, but advice would be welcome. Optional second task – infill above cabinets Close the gap between the existing overhead cabinets and ceiling with a neat white bulkhead or infill. If you can only do the desk that's fine the cabinet infill can be handled separately. Please include relevant experience, availability and an indication of costs. Clarify whether your offer covers the initial site measure/consultation or the full desk installation, with materials and labour separated where possible.
