Bought a new Vention CAT6 patch cable, 15metres, installed it and its obviously faulty. Had to wait like 7 days for it arrive from Auckland as i coulded find the length here in Dunna's... (in my infinite wisdom i did not check it first via laptop/modem etc...) . Assumed it would be ok as the other same 10metre cable went in ok... I use to do this for a job 100 years ago, but no longer have the gear to test or re-terminate ..... id rather not have to pull it all down, take it somewhere, or buy another cable as im on bones ass as it is and this is a cable iv had to replace as some f,,kw.t had gone and cut the old cable with scissors...? why? Any help would be great....i can do the work...just need the tools....wont take long...or another cable made up.....

I've got a desktop PC that's been collecting dust in my garage since 2022. It died just two months into its life, and after one bad repair experience, I gave up on it and switched to a backup PC. That backup is now on its last legs — so it's time to bring this one back from the dead. Here's the backstory: I previously hired a well-known mobile repair company (Geeks On Wheels). They charged me $350 just to show up and "diagnose" it, then couldn't fix it on-site and insisted on taking it back to their shop — which I wasn't willing to do (kinda defeats the whole purpose of paying for a mobile repair lol). I paid $350 for a non-fix and walked away. Not doing that again. What I'm looking for: On-site only. The PC doesn't leave my place. If your plan is to haul it back to a workshop, this isn't the job for you. Real competence. Someone who can actually diagnose and repair, not just guess and upsell. Straight talk. Tell me what's wrong, what it'll cost, and whether it's worth fixing. Honesty over a sales pitch, every time. The offer: Get this machine running again at my place, and I'll happily pay you well for it. Do good work and you've got a repeat customer. If that sounds like you, get in touch.
