What can you expect from an earthmover?
A construction or landscaping project can't be without reliable earthmoving contractors to help prepare the site and transport heavy material to and fro. Hire expert Taskers with the right expertise and equipment to make clearing land or shifting soil and rubble a hassle-free experience — no heavy lifting required on your end.
Here’s what to expect when you book earthmoving contractors on Airtasker:
Excavation and site preparation
Breaking ground on a new build or extension? Get skilled earthmoving contractors to handle everything you'll need, from digging out the foundations and basements to levelling the terrain. Proper excavation is crucial to make sure your construction project is a success, whether it's a small residential project or a large commercial site. Having experts on site ensures that your site preparation remains precise and efficient.
Soil and rubble removal
If you've accumulated piles of dirt, clay, or rubble, and they're left to clutter up your site, it's best to get Taskers to remove them for you and clear out the space. Shovelling it all by hand is a slow, back-breaking job — why endure when you can completely skip this? Instead, hire a professional earthmover to deal with construction waste, such as excess soil after a garden makeover or debris from a demolition job. Contractors will use specialised equipment to load, transport, and dispose of materials safely.
Trenching and drainage
Need to dig a trench for underground utilities, drainage pipes, or foundation footings? Avoid future issues like waterlogging or uneven ground by working with earthmoving contractors who can guarantee precision at every stage. They will create trenches to your exact specifications, observing proper grading and depth. From a small-scale job for residential drainage to a deep-cut trench for commercial infrastructure, the right contractor can get it done fuss-free.
Heavy material transport
Manually shifting heavy loads of materials like gravel or topsoil is exhausting and inefficient, especially for larger sites. By working with professional earthmovers, you can expect them to come equipped with the right machinery to handle bulk loads with minimal labour necessary. They can deliver fresh topsoil straight to your address for a garden project, or haul away construction debris.

Soil moved from a pile on the verge to a garden bed.
$200
Willagee WA, Australia
3rd Jun 2026
Soil needs to be shoveled into a cart (gorilla cart), or wheelbarrow if you have your own, and then dragged approximately 15m away and then emptied into a garden bed by tipping it (it has tipper). The new soil needs to be avoided being compacted (stepped on). You need to avoid damaging the retic. I'm guessing there is about 3 cubic meters left, probably a tad less than this but I will take a photo in the morning. I would prefer help early on Friday.

Move two concrete liners into garden beds
$350
Fremantle WA, Australia
30th Mar 2026
I have two concrete liners, one is 1050 diameter x 900 high (400kg), the second is 1350 diameter x 600 high (430kg). The 1350 diameter liner is to be moved to the back yard (if you refer to the photo its to be moved where the grey bucket is sitting in the garden bed, we will move the pots out of the way) and the 900 diameter liner to the front yard (if you refer to the photo its to be moved to the garden bed on the left). Both are currently sitting on the verge. They will require an excavator to move them in place. They will be sitting around 200mm below ground level, we can dig the hole if required, will just need assistance to ensure they are level once in place. Both are used for raised planters, so avoiding damage to the liners is important. There is clear access to both the front and back yard. (Around 3.5m access down the driveway). See photos attached.

Easy work, just a lot of trips back and forth with relatively small amounts each time. Paying 40 an hour with a minimum of 2 hours pay, if 2 of you can come together as a team I'll make it 45 each instead. Starting at 8:30am Sunday morning in Baldivis. Cheers

Collect a trailer load of soil and help move it to the garden
$200
Hamilton Hill WA, Australia
16th Feb 2026
There is a trailer load of landscaping soil 3minutes drive away from my house. It need to be collected, with your own car and with your own tow bar. It will need to be reversed into the driveway. Then shovelled into large buckets and taken through the garage via the house to the garden area. A wheel barrow may be too wide for the hallway (we can try). The soil is to fill up the new garden beds with steel edging. Good coffee and music supplied.
Great guy, great worker, excellent job. Hire him again any day
