The bed is not lying flat. The manufacturer has suggested that the gas lift may be stuck and has advised to try reinstalling. I have the video containing the manufacturer's recommended instructions. Looks like you will need just need a spanner to unbolt the screws and follow the rest of the steps. I just don't have the stools and confidence to do it. Images attached of the work involved.
