We are looking for an experienced and reliable handyman to inspect and repair two maintenance issues at a property in Lorne: Replace one badly split timber decking board on the lower balcony. Patch, sand and touch up two small holes in an internal wall. Photos of both issues are attached. The damaged deck board may be unsafe, so we would appreciate the earliest available attendance. The posted budget of $150 is for the initial call-out and assessment only. Please provide an itemised quote for labour and materials before completing the repairs. Looking for someone experienced with decking repairs to fix a small section of composite decking that has warped/lifted. As shown in the photo, a few boards have bowed upwards and there is a noticeable gap between boards. I suspect the boards may need to be lifted and re-secured, likely tree caused by tree root.

Scope of work: -Remove selected top decking planks as required to gain safe access underneath the deck. -Inspect the existing wooden support posts and joists for rot, deterioration or structural damage. -Identify all affected timber and advise on any additional structural repairs required. -Replace rotten or compromised posts and joists with suitable hardwood timber to provide structural strength, stability and long-term durability. -Reinstall the removed decking planks securely once structural repairs are completed. -Pressure wash the entire deck to remove mould, dirt and surface build-up. Hi there, I’m looking for an experienced carpenter to repair a section of my deck near the stairs. The Issue: The deck is currently sagging quite noticeably. Looking underneath, the timber at one of the cross joints has heavily rotted out, and the metal bracket connecting the joists is no longer holding securely. I'm looking for a professional to replace the rotted joist and jack the deck up so it's no longer sagging, ensuring it's structurally sound long-term. Additional Info: Access: It is accessible from underneath but quite tight. You'd have to be on your side. Boards on the edges of my desk that have been in full sun need replacing. Also a few on the step. Wood is spotted gum and we have spare wood. Painting not required.
