Recent Housekeepers reviews in North West Melbourne

"Merita's first word when we got back from Melissa cleaning the house was "wow!" she didn't so much exceed expectations as obliterate them. Scrupulously clean, punctual and a lovely person to boot (had to put up with two very young and active boys until we could get out of the house and leave her to do her job!). It goes without saying that we'll be using her again."

What does a housekeeping service include?

Housekeeping services can include one-off services or regular domestic tasks (daily, weekly, or fortnightly), from cleaning and cooking to even home maintenance. Your housekeeper will bring along all the products and equipment they need to clean and maintain your home - all you need to do is tell them what you need done. Here’s how they can help:

Cleaning

The most common housekeeping service involves cleaning. This could include general cleaning, like vacuumingmoppingdusting, and bathroom cleaning. Or it might include detail cleaning tasks like couchcurtainfloorfridge, and rug cleaning. Depending on the number of tasks you’d like your housekeeper to complete, they may clean for just an hour, or up to the entire day. Your housekeeper will discuss a time that’s convenient for you, the tasks you need done, and the timeframe it should take to complete these tasks. If needed, they can bring their own cleaning supplies, like a vacuum cleaner and feather duster.

Organising and tidying

Many housekeepers offer professional organising services, where they help organise and tidy all areas of your home. This includes desks, filing cabinets, stationery, linen, wardrobes, toys, kitchen cupboards, garage interiors, and more. They’ll pull out all the items, organise them by category, and help you choose what you should keep, donate, or bin. They’ll also help by recommending suitable storage solutions to help you keep your home tidy for longer.

Cooking

Some housekeepers are available to help with cooking in your home. They might prepare a few snacks, or help prep several meals ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about cooking. Your housekeeper will present menu and recipe options for you to choose from and use your ingredient and kitchen supplies to cook everything in your kitchen. Once they’re done, they’ll store the freshly cooked food (with heating instructions) and clean up any mess.

Laundry

Washing and ironing starting to pile up? Housekeepers can help by putting on loads of washing, hanging clothes, loading the dryer, folding washing, ironing, and even putting it away. They’ll check the care labels to ensure appropriate washing/drying methods are used before they start the process. With some extra help, you’ll be all caught up on the laundry in no time.

Home maintenance

Many housekeepers are skilled in basic household maintenance tasks. But if they’re unable to do the job themselves, they’ll help organise and oversee skilled contractors who can help do repairs and maintenance in and around your home.

Help unpack bedroom incl. cleaning & declutter

$5

Seddon VIC, Australia

29th Dec 2021

This may be two separate tasks, depending on your expertise. Ideally I am looking for the same person. I’m fully vaxxed, can show certificate, and can do a RAT test before you arrive. Looking for a queer-friendly personal organiser who knows how to treat mustiness/mould in clothing and walls, to help me finish unpacking after moving, sort out what will stay in my room, and what will go back into storage. Imagine the task is 3-6hrs worth, depending on which tasks are done and how much is you working independently vs us working together. Happy to chat about this. Ideally looking for someone: ⁃ open-minded ⁃ Non-judgemental ⁃ Kind ⁃ Understands neurodiversity ⁃ Takes initiative and can suggest solutions, is open to working independently and also with me when that suits the task (eg. Deciding what to throw out) ⁃ Is open to cleaning (cupboard walls & clothing) as well as organising ⁃ Knows how to treat mould ⁃ Can bring a HEPA vacuum to vacuum cupboard walls By the end of the session(s) I’d like to have: ⁃ Treated (for mustiness/potential mould) and dry cupboard ⁃ Boxes sorted ⁃ Some possessions thrown out ⁃ Musty/mouldy clothes treated and clean (though most are totally fine) ⁃ All clothes neatly in cupboard ⁃ Possessions in room sorted and having a place ⁃ Room set up to be a peaceful space before I start the work year ⁃ Boxes for storage clearly sorted and labelled More detail: I’ve done a fair amount of unpacking / sorting already but have quite a bit more to do. The large inbuilt wardrobe in my room is against a wall that has the bathroom on the other side. Six months ago before a proper fan was installed, the bathroom ceiling was quite mouldy — and the cupboard in my room smells musty. So, as a precaution: I’d like you to vacuum the cupboard walls with a HEPA vacuum, then treat with vinegar and clove oil and wash off (or if you have other ideas I am open to that!) Happy to supply cleaning products (prefer non-toxic, no bleach etc). Prefer you to supply vacuum cleaner. We can work on sorting and decluttering the boxes together. If we have time: Some boxes have clothes that were in storage and are musty - a few are actually mouldy. I’d like to treat and rescue these, and am not quite sure how especially for delicate fabrics. I can do this with you but ideally would leave you to it while I work on an assignment. I can come in and out and help out — I am very experienced in working with personal organisers & happy to hear how you like to work with clients.

Thank you so much, so helpful! Highly recommended. 😊

$100

Coburg North VIC, Australia

28th Dec 2021

Recently moved and looking for someone who knows how to recognize and treat mustiness/mould in clothing and walls, to prep my built in wardrobe to unpack into. I’m probably being overzealous but would love to make sure :-) Ideally looking for someone: ⁃ open-minded ⁃ Non-judgemental ⁃ Kind ⁃ Knows how to treat mould ⁃ Can bring a HEPA vacuum to vacuum cupboard walls By the end of the session(s) I’d like to have: ⁃ Treated (for mustiness/potential mould) cupboard ⁃ Musty/mouldy clothes treated and clean The large inbuilt wardrobe in my room is against a wall that has the bathroom on the other side. Six months ago before a proper fan was installed, the bathroom ceiling was quite mouldy — and the cupboard in my room smells musty.
