What does a housekeeping service include?
Housekeeping services can include one-off services or regular domestic tasks (daily, weekly, or fortnightly), from cleaning and cooking to even home maintenance. Your housekeeper will bring along all the products and equipment they need to clean and maintain your home - all you need to do is tell them what you need done. Here’s how they can help:
Cleaning
The most common housekeeping service involves cleaning. This could include general cleaning, like vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and bathroom cleaning. Or it might include detail cleaning tasks like couch, curtain, floor, fridge, and rug cleaning. Depending on the number of tasks you’d like your housekeeper to complete, they may clean for just an hour, or up to the entire day. Your housekeeper will discuss a time that’s convenient for you, the tasks you need done, and the timeframe it should take to complete these tasks. If needed, they can bring their own cleaning supplies, like a vacuum cleaner and feather duster.
Organising and tidying
Many housekeepers offer professional organising services, where they help organise and tidy all areas of your home. This includes desks, filing cabinets, stationery, linen, wardrobes, toys, kitchen cupboards, garage interiors, and more. They’ll pull out all the items, organise them by category, and help you choose what you should keep, donate, or bin. They’ll also help by recommending suitable storage solutions to help you keep your home tidy for longer.
Cooking
Some housekeepers are available to help with cooking in your home. They might prepare a few snacks, or help prep several meals ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about cooking. Your housekeeper will present menu and recipe options for you to choose from and use your ingredient and kitchen supplies to cook everything in your kitchen. Once they’re done, they’ll store the freshly cooked food (with heating instructions) and clean up any mess.
Laundry
Washing and ironing starting to pile up? Housekeepers can help by putting on loads of washing, hanging clothes, loading the dryer, folding washing, ironing, and even putting it away. They’ll check the care labels to ensure appropriate washing/drying methods are used before they start the process. With some extra help, you’ll be all caught up on the laundry in no time.
Home maintenance
Many housekeepers are skilled in basic household maintenance tasks. But if they’re unable to do the job themselves, they’ll help organise and oversee skilled contractors who can help do repairs and maintenance in and around your home.

Carindale QLD, Australia

We’re after a proactive housekeeper who can genuinely take some load off us, not just surface clean. We need someone who walks in, sees what needs doing, and gets on with it. This is a weekly ongoing role, every Tuesday, around 2-3 hours per visit, at $50 per hour. Tasks include: • Decluttering and tidying living spaces so the house feels reset • Putting clean washing away (folding, sorting, into the right rooms) • Spotting what needs cleaning or sorting and flagging or actioning it • General tidy and reset of common areas The ideal person is observant and uses initiative. We don’t want to hand over a checklist every time. If you can look at a room and know what it needs, you’re exactly who we’re after. Please let us know your experience, availability for a regular Tuesday slot, and whether this rate works for you. Reliability and trustworthiness are a must as you’ll be in our family home.

Spring Clean Declutter Help
$600
Calamvale QLD 4116, Australia
23rd Jul 2026
Looking for an organised, reliable and trustworthy person to help me declutter and organise my home — room by room, cupboard by cupboard. This is light organising and sorting work, not a heavy clean (we have weekly cleaners) and not a hoarder clean-out — just a busy working mum with four kids getting on top of the little jobs that pile up. You will be working alongside me for most of the day. I may need to duck out to run errands at times, so I need someone I can trust to keep working independently and be respectful in my home. Day 1 — Kitchen, Laundry, Lounge Kitchen: empty all cupboards, wipe down shelves and drawers, restack cutlery and cookware. Clear out the pantry — throw out expired food, wipe shelves. Clean out and reorganise the fridge. Laundry: clean out the under-sink cupboard and the under-stairs storage area. Sort and discard anything no longer used. Sort and stack items back into the cupboards. Lounge room: sort and clean out the buffet and toy storage. Sort toys the kids have outgrown for donation/disposal. Day 2 — Bathroom, Bedrooms, Plants Spare bathroom cupboard: sort contents into piles, discard old items. Sort cloth nappies and lay them out neatly for a Facebook Marketplace listing. Clean and wipe down the change station. Master bedroom: fold and sort clothing in drawers — ruthless assessment of what to keep, donate or discard. Set up donate piles. Repot approximately 6 house plants. Bedroom 2 (kids): sort and fold clothes — separate items too small for donation from anything worn out for disposal. Requirements Must be organised, methodical and comfortable working through a checklist unsupervised at times Trustworthy Comfortable handling kids' items, clothing and general household sorting References or Airtasker reviews preferred 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom townhouse — well-maintained, not excessive clutter. This is about ticking off the jobs I never get to, not a deep declutter of years of mess.

Carina QLD, Australia
12th Apr 2026
Hi! I’m a single mum to a busy 5 year old, running my own business from home and losing the battle against laundry, dishes, and general chaos. I’m not after just a cleaner — I need a housekeeper. Someone who: • Knows laundry doesn’t fold itself • Isn’t scared of a few dishes or a rogue sock under the couch • Can help keep my 3 bed, 2 bath townhouse looking semi-civilised • Notices the little things and leaves a place feeling calm, not just clean Basically, I need someone who’s reliable, thorough, and gets the satisfaction of turning “how is this mess even possible?” into “oh wow, that’s better.” Once a week, $50 an hour — must be on a Monday, flexible with times. If this sounds like you, make an offer!
Helyn was amazing, great communication from the start and did an amazing job!

Hi there! I'd like to get some help tidying the home. I have a 1.5yr old. The house is lovely, it would just be some vacuuming and picking up toys, spot cleaning. It wouldn't take more than 2 hr. If you enjoy the work I can offer more opportunities 😊❤️ We are a heart-centred home of artists. Flexible on day. Please offer afterpay as an option if you can.
Thankyou to Kalea for supporting our home. We are so grateful. She was very kind and hardworking and has attention to detail. And didn't mind my toddler hovering 🤣 I would recommend to anyone.

Looking for someone easy to work with, non judgemental to help organise and declutter a home for $35 per hour. I have ADHD & ordered a skip bin but have not allowed myself enough time & am overwhelmed. Just needing someone to assist for a day or a few hours. No cleaning just sorting and helping with sorting, declutterig and moving items to skip bin & do what we can with the time we have. I’m really laid back and cruisy. Thanks so much ! Must be ok with inside dogs. They are friendly and won’t get in the way
I have yard a lot of airtaskers in my time but KACEY takes the cake. As someone with debilitating ADHD, Kacey was no judgemental, asked me about what I needed and what my struggles were and got straight to work. She is fast, thorough, efficient and open to all sorts of work from sorting, decluttering, cleaning etc! So easy to work with and she made me feel so comfortable. I will definitely see Kacey again.
