I have cut satin fabric to size to make 4 or 5 hair bonnets and I would like them to be gathered and sewed. They have a different Colour fabric on inside and out, and an elastic headband

Cut a small circle (size of a football) out of a banner. Sew bias binding with a sewing machine around the inner edge of the circle. Then sew bias binding around the circular piece which was cut out. Stitch the top of circlular piece onto the back of the banner so it acts as a flap for the ball to go through.

Hey! I’m starting a small slow-fashion label reworking vintage clothing to fit petite women better — think taking in blazers, shortening dresses, reshaping trousers, that kind of thing. Not just simple hemming, more actual restructuring. Looking for someone with real alteration skills who’s happy to take this on piece by piece, no set hours or contract. Based in Sydney, ideally inner-city or inner west area so we can meet up easily for fittings and drop-offs. Starting with a small first batch to see how we work together, then hoping to make it ongoing as the range grows. Send through a few photos of past work (before/afters would be amazing) and what you’d usually charge per piece for something like this. Happy to chat about turnaround too — usually need things back within 1–2 weeks.

I’m in need of help sewing a silk robe style jacket. I’ve cut out the pieces and have an easy/ facile pattern from Vogue patterns. I need help with a belt/ tie as well, which would be in the same material. I can drop the fabric and pattern off, or pick up from Haberfield. Same with collection once it’s done. I’m not a confident seamstress, so would love some assistance. It’s mainly sleeves, a left and right front section, a back piece and then a border collar similar to a dressing gown Fabric is 100% silk
