I have a possum nesting in my second storey roof. The possum is has created a hole in the roof fascia and is living in the crawl space between the room roof lining and the exterior roof tiles. We have raked ceilings so there is no roof cavity to enter and to manually catch it. My understanding of the solution is to install a one way possum door over the hole in the fascia and once it has left to cover the hole in the fascia with wire mesh to prevent it getting back in. The only way to install the one way possum door will be via a ladder and again via a ladder to remove the one way door and cover the hole with mesh so you will need 2 site visits. Please provide indicative cost to do this. I am open to any other solution that you may have.

A possum has created a hole in our second storey roof fascia. Our house has raked ceilings so there is no roof cavity and the possum is nesting in a 30cm deep space between the roof lining and the tiles. I need something like a one way door over the fascia then the hole covered with wire. As there is no roof access internally the one way door will need to be installed on the fascia via a ladder. I’ve bit away for a few weeks for work, I got home and my wife told me that the kids thought there was something in the roof. We’ve lived here for six years, I go up in the roof all the time. I’ve never seen any evidence of anything being in the roof. last night lying in bed I woke up at midnight and there was something right above us that was scratching around for a while. It didn’t sound like a possum because it just seems very light. If it was a possum it would be a baby one. I suspect it’s more likely to be a mouse or something else so there’s definitely something in there. I’d like it removed as soon as possible.
