We'd start on the garage. Boxes that were packed and never labelled, plus tools and camping gear. A lot isn't coming with me. We empty it, sort it, and anything coming gets labelled for its room at the new house. Then packing, kitchen and pantry first. The pantry is a walk-in under the stairs and overfull, so it wants pulling down rather than tidying. Worth flagging: I've got a five year old, so the place looks like a house with a kid in it mid-move. Some of the job is her room and the toys. What gets played with, what's special, what she's outgrown. I'll make the calls but I want someone who can narrow it down first. How I work: I'll be around but I won't stand over anyone, and I've got a call mid-afternoon. Get into it for an hour or so, put anything you're unsure about aside, then grab me for five minutes to clear the questions in one go. What makes someone good at this: seeing the fix, not just the mess. Thinking about how a space actually gets used and setting it up so it stays that way. If twenty dollars of containers solves something permanently, say so. Boxes, tape and markers here. Bring gloves and decent shoes. Small friendly dog on site.
