Door will shut and top latch will click in but the bottom lock will open and close with the key when the door is open but will not lock and turn when the door is closed. I believe the plate in the door frame needs to be adjusted / moved slightly for it to be able to go in and lock the door. We would rather repair this and not get a new handle.

Change the handle and install with a keyed lock (you supply) and I keep the existing handle. Require a handle with a key lock that is similar to the existing handle if possible. Required Monday-Wednesday.
