Original issue was that the turning the handle (up/down) would not move the latch bolt, however turning the key would. I tried to troubleshoot and removed the lock body and there was a loose piece floating around in it (assuming it was broken). I opened the lock body and now in need of parts (to go into existing lock body) and/or a new lock body for my mortise lock set. It needs to fit the existing door setup and expected behaviour needs to result in the door handle opening/closing the latch bolt.
