I just bought a second hand 2003 Hyundai accent GL. The rego is SIQ952. It came with a RWC and minor service was just done by my usual mechanic. The mechanic had disconnected and reconnected the battery during the RWC. I picked it up on Friday, everything was fine. On Saturday I hadn’t driven it until the afternoon. I drove it for about 15/20mins. Once I had parked the car I had noticed that the key was very noticeably warm/hot, as well as the ignition was warm. However It was fine on the 20min drive back home later that evening. Then yesterday I drove it again to work 20mins and everything was as usual. But then driving it back home the key and ignition got warm only after driving a couple mins from work. Today I’ve driven it to my mechanic and back, but it did not warm up and my mechanic was unsure what it could be as a result of it not warming up again. Should this be a cause For concern? Could I bring the car in to you? It seems that not every drive it warms up but majority of the time it’s when we use the radio that it does. However today I’ve used the radio and it’s been fine again.

My ignition barrell has worn in my 2004 Astra Convertible 3Lt TS . I have a replacement - though I have been using a screwdriver to start my car temporarily the actuator may new a replacement. Hoping to fix before weekend.
