I have had my Jeep Cherokee taken to Jeep and other mechanics and numerous parts have been replaced. The last part that needs replacing is the 2 x mounts for the front shockers. I have bought the parts new but existing mechanics will not installed parts they havent bought.

Essential Tools Hydraulic floor jack (preferably 2–3 tonne) Heavy-duty jack stands Socket and spanner set Ball joint separator (pickle fork or ball joint puller) Pry bar Hammer Torque wrench Spring Installation Tools Internal Coil Spring Compressor Internal coil spring compressor designed for front suspension springs Safety chain through the spring as an additional precaution This is the safest method, especially if the front end is fully assembled. Or Jack Under Lower Control Arm Many HQ restorers install springs by: Removing the shock absorber. Positioning the spring correctly in the upper seat. Supporting the lower control arm with a floor jack. Slowly jacking the control arm up until the ball joint can be connected. Reinstalling the ball joint and shock. A safety chain through the spring is strongly recommended because HQ springs store a huge amount of energy. Helpful Extras Penetrating oil Long punch or drift Workshop manual Impact gun (optional) Important Safety Note HQ front springs can be dangerous if released unexpectedly. Never rely solely on a jack. Use quality jack stands and, ideally, a spring compressor or safety chain. If the lower control arm is disconnected and the spring is not restrained, it can eject with significant force.

Knocking under the hood of 2020 Hyundai i30 CN7 Sedan. From the suspension, just changed sway bar links, so either bushings, tie rod, axel… need someone who can diagnose it and fix it, cheaper than the Hyundai service centre.

Need some help/recommendations urgently for a BMW suspension issue in Brisbane. I’ve got a 2017 BMW X5 F15. I recently had the rear airbags/shocks and air compressor replaced by another mechanic, but I’m still having problems with the left rear side deflating intermittently and it’s now blowing the suspension fuse as well. From everything I’ve read and tested, I’m fairly confident the valve block/valve unit is the next issue. I already have the replacement part ready to go — just need someone who knows these systems properly to fit it and diagnose/check the rest of the setup. Hoping to get it done this Friday or Saturday (23/5 or 24/5). Happy to travel around Brisbane for the right person. If anyone can recommend a good BMW mechanic/mobile mechanic who understands F15 air suspension systems, or if you’re a mechanic yourself and available, please let me know.
