Description: I need a licensed plumber to replace the breech in my shower. It’s an older two-tap setup with separate hot and cold cross-handle taps, and the hot and cold water aren’t mixing properly. A plumber has already inspected it and confirmed the breech needs replacing. I’d like to avoid breaking the shower tiles. The wall behind the taps backs onto the toilet, so the pipework can be reached from the toilet side. The job includes: Opening the wall on the toilet side to reach the breech and tap bodies Replacing the breech, plus the tap bodies or other fittings if needed Testing for leaks and checking that hot and cold mix properly Closing up the access hole [or: leaving a neat opening for a separate patch and paint / fitting an access panel]..

I’m experiencing a water hammer noise when closing taps. I’ve also noticed that when the kitchen sink tap is running, I can hear what sounds like water flowing inside the wall near my bedroom bathroom. I’m unsure what’s causing it. I’m offering $30 for the initial call-out and inspection only to identify the problem. I’m flexible with the final repair cost. Once you’ve inspected the issue, explained the cause and recommended a proper, long-term fix, we can discuss and agree on the final price before proceeding. Looking for someone experienced who can diagnose and fix the issue properly. Location - Tarneit

I need a qualified and appropriately licensed plumber to replace the corroded silver/chrome-plated circular ring surrounding the pop-up drain plug in my bathroom basin. I have attached a close-up photo showing the exact part that needs replacement. Issue: • The silver metal ring around the drain plug has extensive rust/corrosion spots. • No water leakage. • Basin drains normally. Work required: • Inspect the corroded outer basin waste ring. • Replace this part with a suitable new chrome-finish fitting. • If the ring cannot be replaced separately, please quote for replacing the complete basin waste assembly before proceeding. • Test for leaks after installation. Documentation: Tax invoice with plumber’s licence details and written confirmation of completed work and leak testing. Formal compliance certificate only if legally required. Maximum budget: $150 AUD inclusive of parts, labour and GST. Please confirm your total price before accepting the job. No additional work or charges without my approval. Must be a qualified and appropriately licensed Victorian plumber. Thank you.
