Long story short, I need somebody to help me save my CRT TV from the scrap heap! Since I'd moved, the yoke's been out of alignment (just tilted and off to the side, the gemoetry etc was perfect) but I hadn't had the guts to go inside of it due to imminent death. A friend of mine (electrician) recently helped me attempt an adjustment, but whoever was in there last had epoxied the yoke's feet to the tube. A couple of free feet and a minor attempt at an adjustment later, and we realised that the plastic holding the yoke together had cracks and was starting to distort. We decided to stop at that point. WHAT I NEED: Somebody who knows CRTs and yoke adjustment to come over and get inside this bad boy with me, adjust it into the best position it can be, and potentially glue the yoke at the crack point after to give it some bracing. I think it'll be a relatively easy adjust for anybody who knows CRTs, we corrected the tilt but the position is still off to the right and now the left side pushes out towards the bottom corner. I think my friend might have turned the post the wrong way and pushed the foot back from that point; whoever had glued the feet to the tube had filled the feet with epoxy also, so turning them hasn't been the easiest task. I've included a quick snap to demonstrate the distortion - I have corrected the picture with the playstation to be more centred here as the picture being off to the right doesn't illustrate the pull to the left corner as well. The picture normally butts up against the right side of the tv, same geometry. My expectations are low and hopes are high, please help me save my beloved Sorny (TEAC CTM805SR) from the tip - the tube's still firing like a champ, its 80cm and it has a SCART INPUT input. I can't let this guy go without a fight. HELP ME MAKE THE SORNY LIVE FOREVER. PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
