Xero Bookkeeper / Accountant Needed for Business Clean-Up I’m looking for an experienced Xero bookkeeper/accountant to help clean up and organize my business finances. The business has been operating for approximately 11 months and has generated no more than around $13,000 in revenue, so it is still a relatively small business. However, the bookkeeping has not been maintained properly and I need someone to bring everything up to date. I need help with: * Cleaning up and correcting my Xero account * Reconciling approximately 11 months of bank transactions * Reviewing and correctly categorizing roughly 400 unknown/unreconciled transactions * Separating personal expenses from business expenses * Correctly recording any money I have personally taken from or put into the business * Making sure all business income and expenses are recorded correctly * Checking whether I have any GST or BAS obligations * Reviewing my payroll situation, as payroll has not been properly set up * Reviewing payments made to workers, including some workers who are based overseas * Checking whether there are any PAYG, super, STP or other payroll obligations * Getting the accounts properly organized and ready for my business/company tax return * Setting Xero up correctly so the bookkeeping is easier to manage going forward I can provide bank statements, payment records, receipts/invoices where available, worker/payment information and access to Xero. I am mainly looking for a one-off complete clean-up, but I may consider ongoing bookkeeping afterward if I find the right person. Please only apply if you have strong experience with Xero, Australian small businesses and bookkeeping/accounting clean-ups. BAS Agent, registered accountant or tax agent experience would also be highly regarded. Please include your experience, what you would need from me, estimated timeframe, and preferably a fixed-price quote for completing the clean-up.

Seeking an experienced NSW strata lawyer (or consultants,strata lawyers retired/semi retired, lectures, experienced paralegal) to assist with an ongoing owners corporation governance and NCAT matter. The matter involves concerns regarding governance, decision-making processes, compliance with the Strata Schemes Management Act and the conduct of an owners corporation/strata committee. I am a small business, started as a sole trader working with NDIS participants. As my hours grew, I started sub-contracting to other support staff. However, I decided I now want to properly hire workers on TFN and changed to a private company at the start of this year. Unfortunately due to some personal issues, I ended up delaying this process. But I am now keen to tackle this again. I need quote for the following task please: Business advice, initial phone call to determine if we would be compatible (I am flexible with remote work/ timing), assistance setting up xero, payroll, GST potentially as my turnover is projected to cross $75k next financial year, setting up STP, superannuation, BAS lodgements, etc...So as you can see I need a lot of assistance with the initial groundwork with needing ongoing support as well. I am very new to setting everything up, and am currently asking around for quote comparison. Job description I need a registered tax agent to prepare and lodge: 3 x Business Activity Statements (BAS) for my ABN-registered small business (vehicle/equipment rental) 2 x Personal Income Tax Returns for myself — FY2023/24 and FY2024/25 2 x Personal Income Tax Returns for my wife — FY2023/24 and FY2024/25 I run a small car rental business alongside PAYG employment income, so there's a fair volume of receipts to process — roughly 200–300 per financial year. These are already sorted into folders by financial year and by expense category (e.g. advertising, insurance, etc.), so the groundwork is done — you'll just need to enter them into a spreadsheet (I don't use Xero or similar accounting software, so this will be manual/Excel-based bookkeeping). Important: A tax loss has been carried forward from a prior year, which means a refund is likely to be payable by the ATO for at least one of these returns. I know some agents are cautious about quoting on jobs where a refund is expected — if that's a concern for you, please either explain your concern in your quote so we can discuss it, or don't quote on the job. I'd rather sort this out upfront than have it become an issue partway through. I run a small Australian services business (~$1mil turnover) through a company, alongside a trust and my personal finances. I do my own bookkeeping and BAS, so I am not after compliance grunt-work. I want a sharp, hands-on registered tax adviser for a short, focused review of how I currently do things, and if you are the right fit, to stay on as my ongoing adviser. There is real ongoing work here for the right person, not just this review. The immediate job is around 5 hours: a review of, and practical help with, how I run things day to day. Specifically, how I handle my incomings, how I split income across company, trust and personal, and how my Xero setup is put together. Here is the part that matters most. I am not looking for a box-ticker. Compliance is the easy bit and I handle the basics myself. I want someone with a genuine brain for tax: someone who knows where the real, legitimate opportunities to minimise tax are, who works the grey areas within the law rather than defaulting to the most conservative answer, and who knows their craft. To be clear, this is legitimate minimisation within the law, nothing dodgy. But I want the adviser who sees the angles a cautious accountant walks straight past. You must be Australian tax qualified and registered: a registered tax agent, and a CA or CPA. Australian tax law only. I want someone hands-on and engaged, who replies, asks good questions and thinks with me, not a template-and-disappear service. I have a strong preference for advisers with a real practice behind them: a small firm, or a solo practitioner running a proper registered practice with a track record, not an ad-hoc individual. A growing practitioner is welcome, as long as the practice is real and registered. And I want advice that reflects current ATO positions and the latest tax law, not last decade's playbook.
