My backyard needs an intervention. I want a sophisticated summer entertaining space. Currently it's giving "nature is reclaiming what was rightfully hers". AND THEN THE PLOT THICKENS. My lovely landlord's father (a structural engineer) has offered to inspect my proposed shade sail installation. Lovely! Except THE LANDLORD'S DAD IS COMING OVER. I need the garden to suggest I'm a responsible adult. Enter: you. Hopefully. 🌱 OPERATION RESPECTABLE TENANT - Mow the lawn: give the weeds a haircut worthy of a job interview. - Whipper-snip and edge: crisp, clean boundaries. - Weed paving cracks, concrete joins and anywhere else uninvited plants have moved in. - Prune shrubs that have become too comfortable expressing themselves. - Clear leaves, branches and debris. - Sweep/blow down paved areas. - Take excess green waste with you pls. 🌳 TREE DRAMA There's a fig, lemon and bay tree. The fig seems mostly cooperative. The bay is pursuing a career in competitive forestry. Major tree work is separate. A storm hurt my plum tree, so arborist tips welcome! 🏡 THE VISION Not asking for a landscaping miracle. Just clean, tidy and suspiciously well maintained. I want the landlord's dad thinking, "What a delightful tenant!" not "Is that thistle attempting to reach the stratosphere?" 👨‍🌾 MY SUBURBAN DAD™* ORIGIN STORY I've acquired a lawnmower and whipper-snipper and am preparing to enter my Suburban Dad™* Lawn Maintenance Era. Soon I'll have strong opinions about grass height. But first, I need a proper reset before taking the reins as Lady of the Lawn. 🛠️ THE BORING BITS Fawkner. BYO equipment. Include excess green-waste removal in your offer. Photos available when I get home. Flexible timing, ideally ASAP. Budget negotiable. Please help me look like I have a 5-year garden strategy rather than a stack of Bunnings receipts and dangerous optimism. The landlord's dad is coming. The thistles know no limits. My origin story depends on you. *Being a Suburban Dad™ knows no gender.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for an experienced, reliable and reasonably priced landscaper to provide a competitive quote for my newly built home in **Manor Lakes, VIC**. The house is currently under construction, with completion expected in **April 2027**. I'm looking to landscape the **entire property, including the front yard, backyard and both sides of the house**, along with some fencing work. The driveway will already be completed and does not need to be included in the quote. The work may include: - Site preparation and ground levelling - Topsoil and soil preparation - Natural or artificial turf - Garden beds, plants and decorative landscaping - Paving, stepping stones and pathways - Garden edging, pebbles and decorative stones - Drainage solutions where required - **Fencing installation in selected areas of the property** - Side gates or privacy screening, if required I already have **a clear vision of the landscaping design I would like to achieve**, along with a **set budget** that I would like to work within. At this stage, I'm looking to obtain quotes, discuss my ideas and find a landscaper who understands my vision and can offer practical, cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality. **I'm genuinely looking to secure a landscaper ahead of completion. If we establish a good understanding, agree on the scope of work and reach a quote that aligns with my budget, I would be happy to commit to the quote and engage your services for the project.** I have a site plan available and can share further details of my preferred landscaping design and fencing requirements. I would appreciate an **itemised quote**, separating landscaping and fencing costs where possible.
