Rostering / Workforce Planning Review – Excel Roster Seeking an experienced rostering or workforce planning expert to review and optimise an existing Excel roster for a small team. Focus is on aligning coverage to site operating hours, fatigue management, and practical, repeatable rostering rules. Team size is 7 staff in a manufacturing environment with early, day, late and overnight operations. The objective is to optimise the current roster without increasing headcount and ensure it is fatigue safe, operationally sound, and reusable. Scope includes reviewing the current Excel roster, validating coverage against operating hours and fixed rules, checking fatigue management and weekly shift patterns, identifying gaps or inefficiencies, optimising utilisation, and defining clear rostering rules that can be applied ongoing. Recommendation of rostering tools is desirable but not essential to assist in automating the roster planning Deliverables are an improved Excel roster and a short-written explanation of changes and logic. Experience required is rostering or workforce planning in shift-based environments. Operating rules include Monday to Saturday operations, coverage required from 03:00 to 23:00, and an overnight shift from 22:00 to 06:00 Sunday to Friday only. Only one person may work the 03:00 to 11:00 shift, held as a fixed pattern by one staff member. Continuous daytime and late coverage must be maintained, staff must remain in a single shift band per week, RDOs are limited to two per week, and approved annual leave is a hard constraint.
