I am assisting a client to find an Australian-qualified commercial lawyer with experience in professional-service invoices, accountant fee disputes and debt-recovery matters. The client is being asked to pay accounting invoices without receiving a complete and clear breakdown of the charges. They need assistance to: • Review the engagement agreement, invoices, emails and payment history • Assess whether the amounts claimed are properly supported • Identify unexplained, duplicated or potentially unauthorised charges • Advise the client on their legal position and available options • Prepare a formal response disputing unsupported charges • Request a complete itemised breakdown from the accounting firm • Advise the client if debt collection or legal proceedings are threatened The selected lawyer must hold a current Australian practising certificate and have relevant commercial-dispute experience. I am only helping source a suitable lawyer. The legal engagement, conflict check, instructions and confidential communication will be handled directly between the lawyer and my client. This initial task is for document review, legal advice and preparation of one formal response. Court representation or additional work can be quoted separately if required.

I’m looking for an accountant to assist with a limited-scope retrospective review of my company accounts from FY22 to current. I’ve updated the P&L in QBO and drafted the BAS returns, and it looks about right, but I’m not 100% sure. Will need to speak to the ATO to get an extension. The company has had multiple small activities running through it, although it has low revenue, and I’m seeking a practical tidy-up and correction rather than broad advisory work. Specifically, I’m looking for help with: - PSI contractor income and allowable deductions - Correct approach with company share trading activity (balance sheet vs P&L treatment, net gains/losses) - Approach towards my small online business income, expenses, and losses to ensure correct accounting and tax treatment - Review and advise of Personal Services Income (PSI) approach - Any missed or incorrectly classified deductions - Examination of financial statements and general ledger transactions - Assess for relevant small business tax concessions, including the Instant Asset Write-Off. - Liaising with the ATO regarding extension of submission date, payment plan and remission of fees/penalties - Lodging final returns and BASs I am not seeking restructuring, R&D, or high-level tax strategy at this stage, just an accurate reclassification, review and submission of outstanding years to ensure the taxable position is correct. I’m looking to minimize the tax obligation and to get a deal around ATO fees, as I understand I can request to have these removed. Ideally you'll manage this with the ATO. Ideally, this would be a time-boxed engagement or fixed fee. Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you.
