We're a Brissy based company and we want to watch a real person try our new signup/setup process on a mobile phone. We want to hear your honest, unfiltered reactions. We don't mind how you record it, your phone's built-in screen recorder is easiest. As long as it's a screen recording made on the device itself and your speaking is clear. 2. Go through our signup following 4 short steps we'll send you. 3. Talk out loud the whole time, say what you're thinking, what you expect to happen, and call out anything confusing or frustrating. There are no wrong answers; your honest confusion is exactly what we want. 4. Send us the video file when you're done (only used internally). No writing, no report needed. Time: the whole thing is 15–20 minutes, and there's nothing to do afterwards except send us the file. That's it. A couple of things that keep it easy: - No prep and no research — just react out loud as you go - Please don't ask us for help mid-recording. Getting stuck (and saying so) is the whole point!

NOTE - THE BUDGET IS ARBITRARY - THE TASK IS LARGE SO NEGOTIABLE. My Zotero library has exploded to roughly 190 000 items because of repeated sync errors. I want to restore it in three clearly separated stages so progress is easy to track and roll back if needed. Stage 1 – Deduplication Run an automated script to flag obvious duplicates, then manually review the flagged set to make sure nothing unique is lost. I expect the final item count to reflect only true, single-instance entries. Stage 2 – Correct Item Types Once the set is clean, every record needs its Item Type updated by hand so books become “Book,” journal articles “Journal Article,” etc. I will provide a short reference sheet; the assignment itself must be done manually so odd formats are caught correctly. Stage 3 – Metadata Completion The remaining PDFs lack reliable metadata. The bulk of the sources are legal materials - including historic materials. A basic familiarity of the various types of legal sources is required and ideally a familiarity with the various metadata fields for such sources. Preferred tools and skills • Deep familiarity with Zotero’s desktop client and sync functions • Scripting ability (Python/JavaScript) for the automated part of Stage 1 • Patience and accuracy for large-scale manual work • Experience harvesting metadata from academic sources Deliverables for each stage • Updated Zotero .sqlite database (or a full library export) • Brief changelog summarising actions taken and final record count • For Stage 3, a report of sources used for any metadata filled manually I will review and sign off on each stage before we proceed to the next.
