My sons internal bedroom door has shifted out of alignment and will no longer close properly. It appears to be catching around the top of the door/frame. I need someone experienced with hanging and adjusting timber doors to inspect and fix it, including adjusting or packing the hinges, repairing/replacing hinge fixings if required, and lightly planing the door only if necessary. Some existing hinge screws may be difficult or seized. The door and frame are otherwise in reasonable condition and I am not looking to replace the door. The finished door needs to open, close and latch smoothly. Please include labour and basic screws/fixings in your offer. Any larger replacement parts can be discussed before proceeding. Bathroom Acrylic Panel & Mirror Installation – Scope of Works Seeking an experienced handyman with previous experience installing acrylic wall panels and mirrors. Materials supplied by owner * Acrylic back panel – 800 mm × 1300 mm * Two acrylic side infill panels – 50 mm × 800 mm * 600 mm × 900 mm mirror Bostik v60 silicon Installer to supply: * Mirror-safe neutral cure silicone * All fixings, consumables and tools Visit 1 – Before vanity installation * Check wall is suitable for installation and advise of any issues. * Install one 800 × 1300 mm acrylic panel to the full back wall of the vanity recess. * Install two 50 × 800 mm acrylic side infill panels. * Fix panels using Bostik V60 * Ensure all panels are plumb, level, aligned and securely bonded. * Clean the panels and leave the area ready for the plumber to install the vanity. Visit 2 – After vanity installation by plumber * Install one 600 × 900 mm mirror, centred above the vanity. * Securely mount the mirror using the manufacturer’s fixing system, locating studs where possible or using appropriate heavy-duty wall anchors. * Apply mirror-safe neutral cure silicone where required to prevent movement. * Apply a neat bead of neutral cure silicone along the junction between the vanity top and acrylic panel * Clean the work area and remove all rubbish. *No labour required I’ve installed two sets of Ikea Hasvik sliding doors - 236 high 1. 1 x 1500 total wide (2 x 750 doors) - old system 2. 1 x 2000 total wide (2 x 1000 doors) - new system Doors are hanging on a slight angle and I just can’t figure out where I’ve gone wrong. I’m time poor as it is and I’m sick of spending time trying to figure it out! Not wanting to pay through the nose as I’m capable of the labour myself, just hoping I can find someone local who knows both new and old systems well and can just pop around and tell me how to fix it so I can do it myself. Hello, We are looking for a skilled handyman with a steady hand to repair a peeling vinyl window decal at our retail store, in Woodgrove Shopping Centre (Melton). The Issue: A vertical vinyl decal on our shopfront window is peeling away from the glass along the edges. We want to perform a neat, targeted repair to re-secure the existing decal rather than replace it entirely. The Job: The task is to trim the damaged edges and re-glue the peeling vinyl back to the glass. The scope of work involves: 1. Trimming: Using a sharp Stanley knife/utility blade and a straight edge (ruler) to neatly trim approximately 1-2cm of any stretched or damaged vinyl from the curling edges/bottom so it has a clean, straight edge. 2. Adhesive Application: Supplying and applying a suitable, clear contact adhesive (such as Selleys Kwik Grip Horizontal or equivalent vinyl-to-glass glue) behind the peeling sections. 3. Smoothing: Using a squeegee or plastic card to smooth out the decal, ensuring no air bubbles, creases, or lifted edges remain. 4. Clean up: Carefully cleaning off any excess adhesive residue from the glass. Please see the attached photos showing the peeling edges. Requirements: - Proven experience with precision handyman work, vinyl installation, or signage repairs. - You must supply all your own tools (precision blade, ruler, smoothing card) and the specified Selleys Kwik Grip adhesive (or equivalent). - Ability to work cleanly and professionally within a shopping centre environment. - Public liability insurance is required.
