Gardening Jobs in Mount Lawley

There are many more opportunities for gardeners than you think, especially since gardening serves many purposes in Australia. As the climate in the country is varied and unpredictable—think a “climate whiplash”—it’s a must to pay close attention to the state of your garden. Given the complexity of the activity, many Aussies look for reliable gardeners to maintain upkeep and even solve brewing problems. Look no further than Airtasker for gardening jobs near you—whether your specialisation is in planting or overall maintenance, maximising the platform is a convenient way to gain clients and even increase your rates later on. Here are ways Taskers can make a living as gardeners on Airtasker:

Garden planting

What native plants are perfect for this season? How can soil be properly prepared? Is fertiliser essential? If you think you can answer these questions with confidence, then it’s time for you to utilise Airtasker in garden planting tasks. From kangaroo paws to eucalyptus trees, there’s a wide variety of plants that are fun to plant, but make sure to align your expectations with your client and understand the task first, so you’ll know the necessary steps for each plant. Gardeners like you are also expected to perform grouping, which is separating plants according to their growing conditions. This way, it’s also easier to grow and maintain them.

Trimming, pruning, and weeding

Many Australian homeowners look for experts in trimming, pruning and weeding, as these are crucial steps for the plants’ resilience against pests and diseases, plus healthy growth, safety, and stable structure. Moreover, trimming encourages chances of blooming and fruiting; pruning provides better air circulation, and weeding lets your plants achieve their best possible state—without it, weeds will be left to compete with your plant’s required resources. As a Tasker, you can earn from taking requests like these; just be sure to communicate well with your client, prepare the correct equipment, and provide quality service that’s worth a positive review.

Mulching

Expert gardeners usually pick early spring or autumn as the ideal times of the year to do mulching. Did you know that Aussies can earn up to $1,680 from taking on mulching tasks at least five times a week? After all, mulching is no easy task—it involves careful steps like preparing the garden bed, applying the mulch (whether in the form of organic materials like wood chips or leaves or inorganic ones like landscape fabric). Experts know that mulching isn’t the same as composting—that’s why it’s a must to hire competent Taskers. If you feel confident about your skills, mulching tasks are a good way to make a living on Airtasker. Once you find a job you can take on the platform, make an offer!

Horticulture

In Australia, you can boost your credibility as a horticulturist with official certifications and advanced classes. As a professional who works with plants, a horticulturist like you is usually sought for needs related to plants that produce food and medicinal benefits. Hence, skills in breeding, propagation, and pest control are essential. If you decide to head this path, you may find clients on Airtasker in the industries of commercial agriculture, public gardens, nurseries, agricultural producer companies, and more.

Garden maintenance

Maintaining a garden is more than just watering plants at random times! Whether it’s a one-off job or a consistent monthly commitment, you can lock in stable opportunities by finding clients on Airtasker. Be sure to let your profile shine with your areas of expertise, may it be hedge cutting for plant health and aesthetics, careful upkeeping, watering through irrigation systems, or soil cultivation.
