I’m looking for a professional English writing teacher to help me improve my creative/literary English through my own short story. I have an original story written in Chinese. I used AI to translate it into English, and I’d like to use the AI-generated draft as learning material, rather than simply having it polished. The focus is on: * natural, fluent English * word choice, nuance and collocations * sentence structure and rhythm * literary expression and writing voice * understanding why something sounds natural or unnatural * identifying and overcoming literal-translation patterns I am not looking for someone to simply edit or rewrite the AI draft. I want to learn the writing skills myself by analysing the draft and trying to revise it. I’d like to send you a short excerpt before each lesson for you to read in advance. I don’t expect detailed written editing beforehand—the purpose is to give us specific material to discuss and learn from during the session. I’m looking for someone who is: * a native English speaker or genuinely native-level English speaker * experienced in teaching English/EAL, especially to adults * professionally trained or experienced in creative writing, fiction, literature, or editing * able to explain language and stylistic choices clearly I’m not primarily looking for an IELTS/PTE/academic English tutor. I’d like to start with one 60-minute trial session. My initial budget is A$70–100/session, including reasonable preparation time to read the excerpt. For an especially strong match, I’m happy to consider a higher rate. Please include your usual rate and what it includes. Please tell me briefly about your writing and teaching background and how you would approach this.
