I run a small tutoring service preparing primary and high school students for NSW Selective and Opportunity Class (OC) exams. I'm looking for an experienced NSW-qualified English teacher (primary and/or high school) with strong knowledge of the Selective/OC Reading exam format. This is a training/mentoring task, not ongoing outsourced test-writing. I want to learn how to create original, exam-style English Reading Comprehension tests myself — new passages and multiple-choice questions written from scratch, not copied or adapted from existing published exam papers or copyrighted texts — so I'm not reliant on paying someone each time I need a new test. What I'm looking for: A teacher with hands-on experience writing or marking NSW Selective/OC style Reading tests Someone willing to teach/mentor me (via session(s), a written guide, or both) on: How to write original passages (narrative, persuasive, informational) at the right reading level for Years 3–8 How to design strong multiple-choice questions (inference, vocabulary in context, author's craft, tone, main idea, etc.) with good distractors How to avoid copyright issues by writing genuinely original content rather than adapting existing exam material I'm not looking for someone to write ongoing tests for me for a fee — I want to build this skill myself
