Our European Oak floors were sanded and finished with low sheen water based coat about 4 years ago. They were originally finished in oil based coat. An area of 700 x 1500 was not done, as it is under a fish tank. The tank will soon be moved, and the area under it now needs sanding, and finished with water based coat, and blended with existing floor. I am not wanting the entire floor to be redone. Photos show existing floor, the fish tank that will be gone, and a photo of the original floor before it was sanded before. Needs to be done between 10-13 August.

I’m looking for an experienced carpenter/joiner/builder to remove an existing sliding bathroom door and convert the opening to a hinged door with maximum soundproofing/privacy. Scope of work: * Remove existing frosted sliding door and associated hardware/tracks. * Assess and modify opening/frame as required. * Supply and install a solid-core hinged door (hinges on the left side when viewed from the walk-in robe). * Install a full-height mirror on the robe-facing side so the door appears to be a floor-to-ceiling mirror when closed. * Fit acoustic door seals around the perimeter. * Install an automatic drop seal or equivalent to minimise sound transfer. * Ensure door closes securely and aligns neatly with existing finishes. Goal: The current sliding door provides very little privacy and allows bathroom noise to travel into the bedroom. I want the new solution to maximise noise reduction while maintaining a modern, premium appearance.

My wooden desk is a bit taller than I would like. I need someone with basic woodworking skills to saw off about a centimetre, sand it, and then affix new floor protectors to the feet. I suspect the wood is pine because it’s not too heavy… but regardless of the exact timber, it seems to be solid wood rather than a particleboard/MDF situation.
