Car Wash Jobs in Melbourne Western Suburbs

Got a knack for making cars sparkle? Whether you’re a weekend warrior or keen to build a full-time gig, car wash jobs on Airtasker are a great way to earn some cash. From quick exterior rinses to full interior detailing, there’s always someone looking for a clean-up.

The best part? Once people find someone reliable, they tend to stick with you, and that means steady bookings, solid reviews, and higher rates over time. Here’s how you can roll up your sleeves and start earning.

Basic car wash – Quick wins, easy money

Plenty of folks just want the outside of their car looking fresh. A standard exterior wash is simple, doesn’t take long, and can be done in driveways, carparks, or even on the street, as long as you’re not blocking traffic. All you need is some gear, a good eye for detail, and a bit of hustle. These are perfect jobs to fill gaps in your schedule or stack a few in a day for decent take-home pay.

Interior detailing – Where the real money is

This is where your car wash work steps up a notch. Interior cleans take more effort but pay better, especially if you include extras like shampooing carpets, leather conditioning, and getting into all the dusty little crevices. Pet hair, food spills, beach sand,  you name it, someone’s car has it. If you’re thorough and leave the car looking and smelling brand new, you’ll get great reviews and repeat clients in no time.

Full detailing – Top-tier service, top-tier rates

For people who want the full works, offering complete detailing packages is the way to go. That means everything from engine bay touch-ups to polishing, waxing, tyre shine, and all the rest. It’s more time and effort, but if you know your way around a buffer, this is where you can really stand out. Offer mobile detailing and turn up with all your kit, and you can charge premium prices for the convenience alone.

Fleet and commercial vehicles – Bulk jobs, regular gigs

Businesses with utes, vans, or company cars often post on Airtasker looking for someone to clean their fleet. These gigs might seem big at first, but once you’ve got your routine sorted, they’re actually pretty efficient. You might not get 5-star shine on every single one, but clients love reliability, and that often turns into regular work with guaranteed income.

Bundled services – Make more with skills you already have

Here’s where it gets interesting. If you’ve got extra skills, like working as an auto electrician, you can offer more than just a clean. Got a client waiting around while you wash their car? Mention you can do things like a head unit installation or fix their dodgy tail light. People love ticking off two jobs in one visit, and you get to boost your earnings without finding a whole new client. Win-win.

Car cleaner – Tips to increase your earnings on Airtasker

If you want to earn more, come prepared. Bring your own products, cordless vacs, and pressure washers. Clients will often pay more for a full mobile service. Offer package deals, upsell on the spot (think: “Want me to clean those foggy headlights too?”), and be upfront about your prices. And just like any good tradie, turn up when you say you will, be polite, and leave the place better than you found it. Over time, you’ll get a stack of glowing reviews, and your profile will pretty much sell itself.
