Assembly Jobs in Erskineville

Assembly jobs are some of the most popular and consistent ways for Taskers in Australia to earn on Airtasker. From putting together IKEA flat-packs to setting up gym equipment, there’s strong demand from households, businesses, and rental properties. Many customers prefer to outsource assembly tasks to skilled Taskers who can save them time and ensure everything is put together safely and securely. With repeat bookings and plenty of variety, assembly work can become a steady income stream, and as you gain reviews and experience, you’ll be able to charge higher rates and secure ongoing work.

Furniture Assembly

Flat-pack furniture is one of the most frequently requested tasks on Airtasker. Customers often need help assembling desks, beds, chairs, shelves, wardrobes, and even full living room or office setups. Brands like IKEA, Fantastic Furniture, Freedom, Amart, and Officeworks are commonly mentioned in task descriptions, and customers are often willing to pay more for someone who can assemble quickly and correctly. Depending on the job, furniture assembly tasks typically pay between $80 and $200. Many Taskers find they can complete multiple assemblies in a day, making it a reliable way to boost weekly income.

Bet and Cot Assembly

Bedroom furniture, particularly bed frames, bunk beds, and cots, is a common job for assembly Taskers. These tasks are popular with families, new parents, and renters who have recently moved house. Customers value Taskers who can handle the setup efficiently and ensure items are secure and safe for use, especially when it comes to children’s furniture. While these jobs may take less time than full-room assembly, they’re frequent, and completing several in one day can provide steady earnings. Plus, families who hire you once are often likely to rebook when they need help with other home assembly or handyman tasks.

Office and Commercial Furniture Assembly

Businesses also rely on Airtasker for help with office fit-outs and commercial setups. These jobs can involve building desks, chairs, boardroom tables, shelving, and storage systems. Office assembly jobs usually pay higher rates than one-off household tasks because they often involve bulk items and need to be completed within tight deadlines. So if you’re organised, punctual, and confident working in a team or can handle everything solo, you can secure long-term opportunities by building relationships with business clients. Many Taskers turn these into ongoing arrangements, helping with furniture moves, reconfigurations, or seasonal expansions.

Outdoor and Sports Equipment Assembly

Assembly jobs aren’t limited to indoor furniture. Many customers post tasks for setting up outdoor play equipment, trampolines, basketball hoops, swing sets, and even home gym systems. These jobs can take longer and may involve multiple components, but they also pay more because customers value both the convenience and safety of professional assembly. Taskers in suburban areas and family-heavy regions like Brisbane, Melbourne’s outer suburbs, or Sydney’s west often find strong demand for these types of tasks. Seasonal trends also play a role, with demand spiking around school holidays and Christmas.

Flat-pack Kitchen and Storage Assembly

Some customers post larger-scale assembly jobs, such as flat-pack kitchen units, laundry storage systems, and garage shelving. These tasks may require more time, tools, and attention to detail, but they also pay significantly more. With careful organisation, Taskers can complete several units in a day and earn a few hundred dollars per booking. Customers who are renovating or moving house often need help with these jobs and are happy to pay for a Tasker who comes prepared with drills, levels, and the know-how to get everything aligned properly.

Tips to increase your assembly income

To maximise your earnings as an Assembly Tasker, it’s best to come prepared with your own tools like drills, screwdrivers, Allen keys, and levels, since many customers don’t have them on hand. You can boost your income by bundling services such as disassembly, furniture disposal, or even wall mounting alongside assembly, giving clients more value in a single visit. Showcasing photos of your completed work on your Airtasker profile helps build trust, while punctuality, clear communication, and tidy workmanship are key to earning 5-star reviews and standing out in a competitive category. Seasonal peaks, like Christmas and school holidays, bring extra demand for assembly tasks, and by building long-term relationships with property managers, families, or businesses, you can turn one-off jobs into a reliable, ongoing income.
