In Australia, it is illegal and it is a criminal offence if you offer these services for a fee without being Registered Tax Agent. Lots of taskers on here have done that in the past and reviews are a proof. You know who you are and you will be 100% reported to TPB & ATO if you keep doing so.

I'm looking for an experienced and reliable accountant to complete and lodge my Australian tax returns for the last two financial years. I have kept good records, with most of my supporting documents organised, including summaries of my invoices, so the process should be relatively straightforward. Ideally, I'm looking for someone who: Is a registered tax accountant. Has experience with sole traders/ABN tax returns. Is responsive, thorough, and easy to communicate with. Looking for an accountant who is a whiz with Xero to help me with my BAS quarterly return and EOY income tax return. I am also paying super monthly (due to new regulation around super payment) and hoping that you can show me how to do this so I can do myself instead of relying on someone else to do for me every month. My Xero needs a clean up and I am not sure I am using it correctly so looking for guidance on that. Also looking for help to maximise my EOY return as much as possible. Initially this is for the next BAS quarter payment and EOY return but with a view to working reguarly together.

I run a small cleaning business in my first year. I am GST registered, (all done by my previous accountant) but I haven’t properly set up the GST/BAS side of things yet, so I need help getting that organised correctly. Also I'm looking to move from my previous accountant due to lack of advice so I'm looking for someone who is more than capable of putting me in the right track. I have a business bank account and pretty much every transaction coming out of it is business-related. I also might not have all receipts in hand. I don’t have employees at this stage, but I do mainly use contractors. What I need is an initial review/setup to help organise the backend properly: income and expense categories, GST/BAS tracking, receipts, invoices, bank transactions, contractor payments, vehicle/fuel, phone/internet, home office/storage records, and what I need ready for EOFY tax. I’m not looking to commit to Xero or an expensive monthly package unless it is genuinely needed. I’d prefer someone who can advise whether Xero, another system, or a simpler setup is best for where the business is currently at.

I need help with income/expense categories, GST/BAS records, receipts, invoices, bank transactions, subcontractor payments, vehicle/fuel costs, phone/internet, home office/storage records, and whether I actually need Xero or can use a simpler system for now. I’m looking for clear practical advice, not an expensive monthly package or software sales pitch. Please include whether you are a registered BAS agent or tax agent, what’s included in your price, and what documents you need from me. Budget is for an initial review/setup. If more clean-up is needed, I’d like a fixed quote before proceeding.

Not clear whether return will be cash or shares in a company about to IPO or a mixture of both. Need advice on sorting out tax implications under Aus and US law.

We are using MYOB AccountRight (offline) for our small business . Can you give me a crash course + Q&A to how to best utilise MYOB for our business. You should be familiar with MYOB for small businesses and know the common/best practices that other businesses use. About us: We sell machinery/equipment, consumables used by the machinery, service/maintenance of the machinery. Key areas in order of priority: Payroll ○ Set up single touch pay roll via MYOB/other program. As we are using MYOB offline, we understand this feature is not available to us, but we may upgrade in the future, so learning about this now may be relevant. ○ Set up different type of leaves & have recorded in payslip. Specifically, we want to get the personal leave and annual leave accrual up and running, where each employees' balance is shown on the payslip. - 3) Inventory ○ We have a long item list. ○ What are some ways to do inventory management (MYOB, Excel, MYOB Add-on, or other) - 4) Analysis: ○ What are the common/powerful tools for financial reporting in MYOB? Business Insights/Reports? ○ Monthly/Quarterly reports / excel to generate to assess financial health. - 5) Other ○ Book Keeping: What are some book keeping best/efficient practices ○ Purchases: Overview, best/efficient practices. - 6) As MYOB has officially stopped supporting AccountRight offline, we will need to eventually transition to another accounting software. We would appreciate any recommendations, and reason(s) why it is suitable for us. Our preference is to purchase perpetual licence software, and that it can easily be exported/converted into a format for accounts to be able to review. Time Billing? We service equipment on hourly basis, but also have parts replaced - should we use this? Let me know how many hours we get with you. - Due date: Flexible
