Hi, We are developing a compact handheld device for the building and trades market and need a mechanical product designer to take it from concept sketches to manufacturable CAD. Rough envelope: about 30 mm diameter, 170 mm long, plastic housing in two halves, containing a small electric actuator, a rechargeable Li-ion cell, a basic PCB and a few machined metal parts. Nothing exotic — the challenge is packaging it neatly and making it robust in a tradesperson's pocket. Stage 1 (this task): review my concept sketches and existing 3D model, then produce clean parametric CAD of the housing with a basic DFM review. STEP and native files supplied to me. Stage 2 (separate, if Stage 1 goes well): tolerancing, tooling-ready parts, prototype coordination. Requirements SolidWorks or Fusion 360, parametric modelling Injection-moulded plastic housings and snap/screw assembly experience Willing to sign a short mutual NDA before I share any detail Australian-based preferred so we can meet or call easily I already have a working 3D concept model and dimensioned sketches, so you're refining, not inventing. Happy to pay for a small paid trial task first. Please tell me: what similar handheld products have you designed, what software you use, and are you OK signing an NDA?

I’m currently completing my graduate project as an Interior Design student and am looking for someone experienced in SketchUp to help build the base model of my site, including both the interior and exterior. I want to spend the majority of my project time focusing on the actual interior design, concept development and detailing, rather than spending hours building the existing site from scratch. I will provide everything you need to work from, including floor plans, sections, elevations, site measurements and reference photos, so the dimensions and overall building structure will be clearly documented. The task is simply to create a clean, accurate SketchUp model of the existing interior and exterior that I can then take over and use to develop my own design. For someone confident and efficient in SketchUp, I would expect this to be approximately 1–2 days of work.
