Develop a new website

$2,000

Kensington, Victoria, Australia

4th Aug 2016

Our current website is based on a template created by our peak body (Neighbourhood Houses Victoria). It was developed as a cheap one-size fits all off the shelf template that could be used by any Neighbourhood House. At the time it was a step up in design and useability of our previous site. Increasingly we have become aware that it is not user friendly for many of our student cohorts and other groups in the community. The site doesn’t visually convey the values and personality of our organisation. It acts as a directory or index of our courses. We would like our new website to incorporate universal design elements (refer Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0) so that it is accessible to people with; low levels of English, limited digital literacy skills, intellectual disabilities and vision impairment. We would also like the website to be able to be viewed on all forms of digital devices (smart phones, tablets etc). We would like our new website to convey the principles of the Neighbourhood House as well as being a place where people can find a course. To do this we will change the site map to include a section “Our Stories” under which we can have a series of case study success stories. The following features from the existing site will be retained; search box, links to social media and downloadable forms and newsletters. We will also like to retain the current URL. We would like the new site to include an on-line course booking and payment function which integrates with our bookkeeping package (xero) and student management system (Wisenet) and a calendar of events. We would like the website to continue to be able to be updated in-house by our Administration Support staff.   Our Website Users We would like the new website to cater for the following users: • People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds • All age groups (including seniors and children) • People with disabilities (including intellectual and vision impaired) • People from all socio-economic backgrounds • Staff from referring support agencies • Philanthropic organisations Website Design Our new website should incorporate our current branding and style guidelines. Impressions we’d like to communicate in the design include; inclusive, friendly, quality, innovative, community and belonging. Photos should represent the diversity of people who access the House. Website Timeline Quote to include web design, web building, hosting, photography and training of staff. KNH staff will write content for the site. New website to be live by 16 December 2016.
