Yes, you can fix a hole in your down jacket by yourself. This can usually be done using a repair tape that’s made mostly for patching up clothing. Don’t try to sew up the hole - poking a needle into your down jacket will only result in more leaking feathers and a bigger problem for you to fix. Better yet, book a coat repair service on our platform.
No, they can’t. They might be able to let out the seams a bit, but they won’t be able to make your coat go two sizes bigger. If the fit is an issue with your current jacket, it’s best to purchase a coat that can accommodate the widest part of your body, then have it tailored to suit the rest of your measurements.
Coat repair services don’t include laundry and dry cleaning, though some alteration services may offer this. In case your particular Tasker cannot accommodate your request, you can use Airtasker to look for cleaning services near you. By having a trusted expert take care of these chores, you avoid causing damage to your clothes. Get more done on your to-do list by booking a Tasker near you today!

Got a hole in your down jacket from laundry accident? Did you get your coat sleeves ripped while at work? Don’t worry - your Tasker can help make your coat look good as new! Our coat repair services cover everything from coat zipper replacement to patching up down jackets and fur coats.
When you book your coat repair appointment, the Tasker goes to your location and picks up the garment. Then, they’ll fix your coat at their shop and drop it off at your home or office. You won’t need to stop by their shop yourself or carry a couple of heavy coats around - fill out the task form and put the location that’s most convenient for you.
If a coat is too big for you, you can book a Tasker to tailor it to your size. Possible coat alterations include altering the sleeve length, adjusting the coat length, and taking in the coat shoulders. Taskers can also change the coat collar to make it fit better.
If you have a trench coat you’d like to alter, your coat repair expert may be able to do so by taking in the seams or adjusting the buttons.
Some coat repair experts can also do vest and waistcoat alterations. These include taking in the sides, lowering the neckline, and shortening the waistcoat. Do note that these garments are made with no extra material. Thus, your Tasker won’t be able to lengthen your waistcoat or take out the sides.
Fur coat alterations, on the other hand, are more limited. Your Tasker can only change the sleeves, alter the hem, or shear the fur to give your coat a new look.
