G'day, I run a commercial film studio on the Gold Coast (Varsity Lakes), and I need someone qualified to review our existing structural drawings and produce a short Safe Working Load (SWL) summary letter. This is a DESK REVIEW job, not a full inspection. We already have: - Existing structural drawings with beam dimensions, spans, and section details - Photos of the existing roof structure, trusses, services, and floor - Building details (commercial conversion, concrete slab floor, steel portal frame roof, sandwich panel cladding, around 7m ceiling clearance, around 400m² main space) What I need: 1. Confirmation of safe distributed load and point load capacity for the soundstage floor (we host set builds and the occasional water tank) 2. Safe Working Load (SWL) for items suspended from the existing roof beams and trusses 3. A one-page signed letter I can share with film productions and their insurers, referencing the drawings used Suitable for: structural engineer, building certifier, qualified rigger with structural drafting background, or experienced structural drafter. Insurance details needed before any site visit (most of this can be done at your desk from the drawings). I'll send the drawings and site photos through on appointment. Job should take 1 to 2 hours of desk work, plus optional brief site verification if you want it. Time-sensitive: production on site is requesting this info. Willing to negotiate up for the right qualified person. Location: Varsity Lakes, Gold Coast (mostly remote work, optional site visit by arrangement).
