Building report was done and the following noted, which needs to be rectified. "At one end of the carport a roof rafter is rebated and connected onto a supporting load-bearing timber beam that spans the carport, the end of the rafter and the adjoining section of the supporting beam both exhibit significant timber decay. The deterioration has resulted in visible compression of the timber beam under load, and the supporting beam is also beginning to rotate out of its intended position due to the loss of structural integrity. It was noted on the opposing rafter where rebated and attached to the spanning beam (pictured), the nail fixings are pulling away and have reduced the structural integrity of the load bearing connection."
