We are looking for an experienced and patient hairdresser who can provide a haircut and blow wave for my mother, who has dementia. She has not been to a professional hairdresser for a long time and has been cutting her own hair herself. Her hair is medium to long, around collarbone length, and grey. She has recently shown interest in dyeing her hair as well, however we are unsure whether she would be able to sit in a chair for an extended period of time. We would appreciate your advice on what may be suitable. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience working with elderly clients or people with cognitive conditions. A calm, gentle and understanding approach is very important. It would also be highly preferred if the hairdresser speaks Serbian or Croatian, as this would help her feel more comfortable. We can encourage her to use dry shampoo or wash her hair before the appointment if that is preferred. Please let us know what you recommend. The appointment does not need to be in home.
