I’m developing a small fashion label and am looking for an experienced seamstress to assist with creating initial garment samples and refining fit, construction, and finishing details. This is a development-focused role, not basic alterations. The aim is to work closely on early-stage garment development, including sampling, fittings, and collaborative adjustments. This role may lead to ongoing work as the brand grows and potentially evolve into a long-term production relationship. Work includes: * Creating first samples from designs (tech packs can be provided or developed collaboratively) * Attending in-person fittings and making fit adjustments * Advising on fabric choice, construction, and finishing techniques * Collaborating closely during development stages * Refining garments through a small revision process Garments: Initial focus will be 1–3 sample pieces for a womenswear label with a refined, elevated aesthetic. Ideal experience: * Strong garment construction and sewing experience * Confident working with fitted womenswear and structured pieces * Experience with sampling or small-batch production preferred * Able to communicate clearly and work collaboratively Location: Anywhere in Adelaide, preferably slightly south of the city. Must be able to attend in-person fittings. Communication: Communication is essential. Phone calls, texting, and in-person meetings are all required as part of the process. Payment: * $30 per hour for in-person meetings and fittings * $50 per completed final garment (depending on complexity) * Open to negotiation based on experience and quality of work Notes: This is an opportunity to be part of an early-stage fashion label.
