We have 4 x Shower wall mounted taps that need replacing. I've replaced taps in the past but always seem to muck something up - plumbing is just not my superpower. The 4 taps are identical. A long-ish spindle seems to be required, some extenders may be necessary, I'm not 100% certain. That might be part of my problem. A photo is included to show the existing style of tap our showers have. We'd like something similar, doesn't need to be a luxury model. Am seeking help as I tried fixing a leak, didn't work, one of our showers is now out of action. We have a toilet that is running a little water too, so we may as well get the valve fixed at the same time. Located in Thornbury Vic.

Scope of Works – Hot Water Line to Rear Bathroom, Kensington Background A new electric water heater is being installed on the fence side of the main house (by others). Hot water to the rear bathroom shower currently comes from an existing gas-fired water heater, which is to be decommissioned. Refer to the attached site diagram. Quote 1 – New hot water line Connect a new hot water line at the outlet of the new water heater. Run the line along the boundary fence line, buried, approx. 15 m. Minimum cover as required by AS/NZS 3500. Note there is a large tree near the rear building. Run the line along the face of the rear building, then vertically up the side of the building. Penetrate the wall, run across inside the rear building, then down to connect to the existing shower mixer/outlet. The penetration must be sealed and weatherproofed. Insulate the entire run, buried and exposed sections included, and UV-protect any exposed pipe. Isolate the existing hot water supply to the rear building and cap it off at the source, leaving no dead leg. Pressure test the line, flush it and commission it. Make good all trenching and the wall penetration. Issue a Certificate of Compliance on completion. Total run is approx. 20 m. Please confirm the length on site and specify the pipe material and size in your quote. Quote 2 – Removal of existing gas water heater Isolate the gas supply and cap the line permanently (licensed gasfitter). Disconnect and cap the water connections. Remove the flue and make good any wall or roof penetration. Remove the unit from site and dispose of it. Issue a gas compliance certificate for the capped line. Please price Quotes 1 and 2 separately.

We have the rain water falling on the deck and sipping through the floor under it which is mostly bricks and dirt, we need to waterproof the top of the brick bed, under the boards 1. Remove the deck boards we are already happy to do this. 2. Clean the bricks and fill any loose or open joints so the surface is reasonsbly flat. 3. Lay a membrane over the bricks, with a fall toward the slab drain. Sheet membranes for decks or a liquid-applied membrane both work. The fall can be achieved by adding a sand or mortar screed over the bricks before the membrane goes down. 4. Turn the membrane up at the wall and seal it to the masonry, so water can't run behind it 5. Seal around each post or bearer support with a membrane collar or flashing. Don't cut the membrane tight and leave it open. Each penetration is a potential leak. 6. Reinstall the boards on battens or spacers so there's an air and drainage gap above the membrane. Water drops through the boards, runs along the membrane, and goes to the drain.
